The course fee is the same even if you choose to arrive or leave at a different time.

Remaining fees must be at our disposal before the 1st of June. After the 1st of June the application is binding and can only be canceled by presenting amedical certificate.
Jean Ferrandis
French flute soloist and conductor Jean Ferrandis enjoys an international career that takes him throughout Europe, Asia and North America. He has presentedrecitals, performed chamber music, and appeared as soloist with orchestra in such prestigious concert halls as the Salle Pleyel and Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris, Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall in New York, Wigmore hall etc.
In addition to his performing career, Jean Ferrandis teaches at l’Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris and is a tenured professor at California State University-Fullerton. Renowned worldwide for his insightful master classes, he has been invited to many of the finest music schools in the United States, including the Juilliard School, the Eastman School of Music, Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music and Indiana University. He has also taught in London at the Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School and Trinity College; in Tokyo at the Toho School; in Moscow at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory; and in Taiwan, Korea, China, and South Africa.
Among his highly acclaimed recordings are the J. S. Bach Trio Sonatas, BWV 525-530, with pianist Léla Katsarava and the chamber works of Yuko Uebayashi, both released on the EA (Europ & Art). A strong advocate of living composers, Mr. Ferrandis has premiered several works dedicated to him by Yuko Uebayashi. Alexandre Desplat, two-time Oscar winner for his film scores, wrote Pelléas etMélisande for Mr. Ferrandis. Jean Ferrandis received his firstprize unanimously from the Lyon Conservatoire, where he studied with Maxence Larrieu. Among many competitons, he won the grandprize at the 1986 Prague Spring Festival International Flute competition.
After hearing Mr. Ferrandis perform the Adagio from Mozart’s D major concerto Leonard Bernstein exclaimed “It is Pan himself!” and subsequently composed acadenza for him.
Katherine Bryan
Katherine Bryan made her concerto debut at the age of 15. She has since performed as soloist with orchestras around the world.
Katherine’s debut solo recording of concertos was released to great acclaim in 2010. She was nominated for an International Classical Music Award in 2011. Further to this success, Katherine recorded another disc of concertos, which includes the first British recording of the concerto by Christopher Rouse. Her third album, Silver Bow, a collection of violin transcriptions for flute and orchestra, was released in September 2015. Her latest recording of Opera transcriptions Silver Voice was released in 2017.
Katherine won a full scholarship to study flute at the Juilliard School. She was also aprize winner at the Royal Overseas League Competition in London, the Young Concert Artists Competition in New York and was a finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year for three consecutive competitions. She was awarded the Julius Isserlis Scholarship by the Royal Philharmonic Society.
Katherine has been Principal Flautist with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra since she was just 21. She has played as Guest Principal flute with orchestras throughout the UK and across the world. She is in great demand as a teacher and tutor. Katherine regularly performs live on radio and television. In 2019, she was named by the BBC Music Magazine as one of the top 6 international flute players of all time. She runs her own flute course on the banks of Loch Lomond.
She is a mother to Torben, 4, and runs The Drummond Craft Co, hand-makingjewellery.
